Our board

DCH board and committee members visting properties in CornwallDCHA is led by voluntary board members, drawn from residents and the wider community.

The board has 12 members, and comprises:

  • four resident members - three of these are directly elected, and one appointed to balance skills and experience
  • eight board members from the wider community.

simon sanger-anderson

Simon Sanger-Anderson
Chair of DCHA and board member since 2005. Board member of DCHT. Simon was a tenant for many years of a housing association in Islington and on their board. Solicitor and partner in Tozers specialising in employment law and governance

Jono Broad

Jonathan Broad
Resident board member since 2004. Chair of DCHT and the group nominations committee. Member of Devon regional committee. Founder member of the Active Community Tenants (Act) Network and a former volunteer member of a Patient & Public Involvement Forum.

Caroline Cook Caroline Cook
Chair of our Cornwall regional committee, having been a member since 2005. Caroline became a DCHA tenant in 1999 and joined the Active community tenants network in 2003. She chairs our Open Door editorial group and serves on the Peninsula Tenants Committee, where she represents DCHA tenants whose homes are managed by PHA.
gloria davenport Gloria Davenport
Resident board member since 2007. Member of Plymouth regional committee. Gloria has been a DCHA tenant since 1991. She undertakes work for the Citizens Advice Bureau and does voluntary work for the probation service. Gloria gives debt advice at the Plymouth Focus Advice Centre.

nadia hewitt

Nadia Hewitt
Board member since 2006, board member of DCLS and member of Cornwall regional committee. Nadia trained as a social worker in the 1980s, and has worked continuously in Cornwall, in health, social services and housing, in statutory and voluntary sectors.
Philip Hutt Philip Hutt
Appointed to the board and Devon regional committee in January 2009. Philip's career has been commercially and contractually based, with over 20 years experience in senior management roles. Recently retired, finishing his career as vice-president of the Global Business Improvement section of GE Aviation Systems Ltd.

jennifer jackson

Jennifer Jackson
Board member since 2006. Board member of DCLS and member of the Cornwall regional committee. Worked for more than 30 years as an IT professional, most of them with a major oil company, including running both small business units and large projects.

martyn johnson

Martyn Johnson
Board member since 2000. Member of group treasury committee and chair of Plymouth regional committee. Martyn is also a board member of Dartington Housing Association.

Les Mazurek Les Mazurek Les is Chair of our Devon regional committee and has been a regional committee member since 2005. He became a DCHA tenant in 1999 and is a member to the Active community tenants network. He also serves o our Open Door Editorial group.

john saunders

John Saunders
Board member since 1979 and chair of DCLS. Chair of Devon regional committee. Retired head of photography and consultant to Exeter University. Associated with various voluntary groups with housing connections for 35 years.
Peter Shipley

Peter Shipley
Board member since 2007. Member of Plymouth regional committee. Peter worked for Anchor Trust for 30 years and is now working part-time as a housing consultant. He is a volunteer on the West Somerset Railway.

Steve Tucker Steve Tucker
Board member since 2007. Member of Devon regional comittee. Steve trained as an infantry officer at Sandhurst and completed a short service commission. After the army he gained a degree in Modern English & Communication. He now runs his own business and sales consultancy providing commercial and marketing expertise to independent software vendors.
