Join the organisations and individuals already taking advantage of our high quality, very competitive services. They include:
- Teignbridge District Council
- North Devon Homes
- West Devon Homes
- Devon & Cornwall Housing Association
- supported housing
- private home owners and tenants.
Profits from our commercial work go back into funding the subsidised work we carry out for vulnerable people.
You can still use our service, expertise and skills even if you do not qualify for our core service, or if the work you would like to have done is outside the scope of our core service. Devon care & repair offers a whole range of competitively priced services.
Some examples of the work which we can do for all are:
For organisations
- designing major adaptations and facilitating Disabled Facilities Grants for tenants of Registered Social Landlords
- minor maintenance contracts for public buildings
- portable appliance testing.
For anyone (organisations and individuals)
- minor repairs, maintenance and Handyperson work
- design service for wet rooms, level access showers and extensions
- minor adaptations – assessment and fitting
- painting and decorating
- fencing repairs.
This work is carried out by staff employed by Devon care & repair especially for commercial services work. They all receive appropriate specialist training, as required, and are checked for competence and through the Criminal Records Bureau. When they visit, they show identification and handypersons wear a Devon care & repair uniform.
For major adaptation work, such as extensions or bathroom adaptations, our experienced technical officers provide designs, produce plans and specifications, obtain any necessary permissions, help to select suitable contractors and inspect completed work.
Registered Social Landlords (RSL), using the Disabled Facilities Grant service, will know that their tenants gain the added benefit of a designated caseworker, who will provide the whole “care & repair” service. This includes completing all the necessary paperwork, carrying out a welfare benefits check and keeping all concerned informed of progress.
Please see below to view a sample Service Level Agreement for RSLs.
We will be happy to give you a ‘no obligation’ quote for your work or project.
