Find out more about resident learning and training opportunities

They say you are never to old to learn! At Devon & Cornwall Housing we positively encourage learning new skills and taking training among staff and residents. Here are some of the opportunities on offer to residents.

Community Investment Awards

For residents wishing to pursue excellence in learning and education and this includes sports and arts, we offer an annual award of up to £250. Better Homes

We can offer six or more resident households (can include shared owners):

  • a two hour workshop offering energy and water saving advice and information on what green projects are available locally.
  • a three hour community first aid course with St John's Ambulance

Better Places

We can offer formal and informal residents groups and associations:

  • tailored advice on a variety of subjects including committee skills, event management, fundraising and getting your voice heard
  • guidance on how to become a green champion and offer advice and guidance on energy and water saving and recycling in the local community
  • information and guidance on the role of the neighbourhood watch, how to set one up and how we and the Police can help.

Mystery shopping – is it for me? an introduction for those that are interested in becoming a mystery shopper with DCHA.

This 1 hour workshop can come to a location close to you. Please contact Julie West.

Dealing with anti-social behaviour who does what? Explaining the roles of the landlord, tenant and Police and how together we can combat it.
