Solar panels at Ker Street
Reducing energy consumption and residents' bills...
DCHA has been awarded over £300,000 from the Devonport Regeneration Community Partnership and the Low Carbon Buildings Programme to fit solar panels at a new development of affordable homes at Ker Street in Devonport.
The panels come in the form of roof tiles that are integrated into the existing roof structure, as well as individual panels that are fitted to the flat roof of a large block of flats. The panels produce electricity to help reduce the residents' carbon footprints and keep their household bills down. Individual meters provide the residents with readings to show how much electricity is being produced at any time.
When completed, the scheme will boast the largest array of solar photovoltaic panels on any housing project in the south west.
