DCHA wins environmental funding

Achieving more environmentally friendly homes and workplaces

The REGG group visits the Eden projectWe are really pleased to have won third-year funding for our sustainable living project, from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra).

Our project is aimed at helping residents and staff achieve more environmentally friendly homes and workplaces.

Announcing the grant, Climate Change and Environment Minister Ian Pearson said sustainable consumption and production was a key priority for Defra, and that the project "will help to show that taking sustainable choices does not have to be the difficult option when incorporating them into people's everyday lives."

Project coordinator, Rose Hunter said "This is wonderful news and will make a big difference. Devon & Cornwall Housing group has just agreed that one of our four key aims is to become a more environmentally responsible organisation".

Later this spring we will be launching the sustainability section of our website. In the meantime, contact Rose Hunter for more information. And, why not visit the Residents Environmental Green Group website at www.regg.org - one of DCHA residents' achievements funded by the Defra grant.
