Green fayre in Cornwall

Tips and advice for helping the environment in north Cornwall

green fayre st agnesThe north Cornish coastal town of St Agnes was the scene of our latest green fayre where local residents could have some fun while collecting tips and advice on how to adopt a greener and healthier lifestyle.

The event took place at the youth centre and attracted stall holders giving advice on what residents could do to become more energy efficient, increase their recycling, stay healthy, make fruit smoothies, as well as the opportunity to make birdboxes, kites and shopping bags from scrap material.

The Environment Agency provided free bags and children's sun hats made from hemp and South West Water offered a free water butt and composter as first prize for our green living quiz.

The subsidised ice cream van (Callestick Farm) proved to be very popular because of the fine hot weather, while the children were fascinated by making kites out of old bits of plastic and sticky tape.
