Stakeholder conference

Working together to improve community involvement

PHA, Tor Homes and DCHA representatives at the stakeholder dayBoard and committee members from across Devon & Cornwall Housing group held a really successful event on Friday 19 January, discussing how to improve community involvement in our work.

The board and committee members, including residents, local councillors and the wider community, were working together at our Stakeholder Involvement Conference in Plymouth.

As well as members from Devon & Cornwall Housing Association (DCHA) and Penwith Housing Association (PHA), we welcomed residents, board members and staff from Tor Homes, who plan to join our group in April.

We already have wide community involvement across the region. The day built on this, as well as making sure that we are responsive to the national drive for more customer accountability and greater efficiency.

Presentations, workshops and exhibitions all helped delegates consider the challenges facing us, and how best to make sure that our governance stays open, inclusive and effective.

Key themes emerging were local focus, and the opportunities for sharing ideas and experiences across the group.
