Better homes, better places, better lives

Developing DCHA's new vision

Homes at GoldsithneyDCHA is pleased to be adopting the new group vision, aims and values.

Towards the end of last year, the DCHT board consulted subsidiaries and all group staff on a new vision, values and aims. This was very successful, and led to lots of changes.

Following many comments and suggestions we made the wording much shorter and clearer, as well as adding a new aim of staff support and development.

DCHA, PHA, DCLS and Westco (and later Tor Homes) are all adopting the group vision, aims and values. They may also decide to have their own additional vision and aims, to describe unique aspects of their activities - this work will be taking place in March 2007.

Our group vision

Our new group vision is clear and simple:

  • better homes, better places, better lives.

Teresa Butchers, Group Chief Executive said "the new vision really sums up everything we are about - always aiming to improve, and with people at the heart of our work".

Our group values

Our values set out how we work:

  • putting our customers first
  • delivering what we promise
  • being open, honest and accountable
  • promoting equality and fairness
  • working in partnership
  • always looking for ways to improve.

Our group aims

Our aims set out how we will achieve our vision:

  • providing affordable high-quality services and homes
  • supporting and developing our staff, and managing our resources effectively
  • including and involving our customers, partners and other stakeholders
  • becoming a more environmentally responsible organisation.
