Making consultation fun

A roller-coaster of a day from start to finish, with residents helping keep us on track

Roller coaster ride

On a frosty Sunday morning in December 120 residents joined Devon & Cornwall housing staff at the Crealy Adventure Park in Devon to take part in a 'hands on' discussion about DCHA housing services. During the morning residents used electronic hand sets to answer questions on a wide topic of subjects from their satisfaction with repairs and maintenance, to helping us set our priorities for the future.

Each household were given token money to spend on new services - 'the out of hours anti-social help line came out top' and had an opportunity to visit stands and talk with active tenants and community partners. At lunch time residents and staff were free to have lunch and visit the adventure park. The day proved a successful one as over 50% of the households involved had never taken part in any consultation with us before.
