Hendra Lodge coffee morning and open day

As Hendra offers valuable support to their residents (young people between the ages of 16 and 25) the residents liked the idea of raising money for another support service. Last year, they managed to raise over £55. And even beat the total raised by the Body Shop situated in the busy Drakes Circus shopping centre in Plymouth

This year, the residents threw the doors open for another coffee morning and helped out by being hosts, making drinks, showing people round – the project combined the coffee morning with their open day – baking cakes and even selling raffle tickets…

Guests from Devon & Cornwall Housing, Volunteer Cornwall and the local police, among others, all turned up to drop their money in the tin and enjoy some very delicious cakes. And thanks to the effort and enthusiasm of the residents, over £80 was raised! All of which will now be going to directly help support those affected by cancer.
