28 years old and from Par in Cornwall, Louisa has had a difficult time over the last few years.
Without a permanent home she spent some time staying with her brother but the stress of not having a stable home caused things to deteriorate. So much so, that in November 2005, Louisa's nurse referred her to the DCHA supported housing project in Saltash.
Louisa, who was determined to get her life back on track, jumped at the chance to make a fresh start with support from staff and other people in similar circumstances. She made really good progress and in April this year moved from the supported house into her own one bedroom bungalow. She still gets support from staff and retains her friendships with residents but now has much greater freedom and space to pursue her interests.
Photography and computers play a large part in her life. She has been attending adult education classes for both interests and would like to carry on studying and then hopefully use her skills in a career. She prefers taking pictures of landscapes but has used her Olympus camera to take stunning pictures of the christening of her brother’s baby.
Louisa is the proud owner of two Yamaha motorbikes, a 750cc and a 1300cc. Her favourite is the 1300 and the longest journey she has made so far is to Portsmouth. She likes tattoos and loves playing scrabble at least twice a week with friends from the supported housing project. She is rapidly getting her life back on track and we wish her well for the future.
