What is care & repair?

Property needing workCare & repair is what we call our Home Improvement Agencies (HIAs). They help older people or people with disabilities of any age to find the best answer to their housing needs and to live in greater comfort and security in their own homes.

Whilst we work mainly with homeowners, we also assist people with disabilities who live in rented accommodation with help for adaptations. We also help tenants over 60 with repair needs where these are not the responsibility of their landlord.

Agency staff provide advice, information and help with the entire process of deciding what work is required, helping to arrange finance and organising the building work itself.

The agencies can help clients to obtain relevant funding to carry out the works to their homes. The work can range from a minor repair to a large, full-scale modernisation. Agency staff assist clients through the whole process from initial enquiry to completion of works on site.
