Torbay Foyer is situated on the site of the old South Devon College and provides homes for 20 young local people. It has a cafe, computer suite and theatre space for the use of the community.
For the last two years, one of the community activities has been the use of the theatre as a rehearsal venue for the Devon Opera Company.
Another noteworthy achievement is that a young woman living there narrowly missed out on being a playing member of the England team at the Homeless World Cup held in South Africa. The disappointment was tempered partly by being chosen to go out to the event as one of two reporters filing stories for the press and the BBC.
