What are foyers?
Housing and training for young people
Foyers provide accommodation for young people between 16 and 25 years old. As well as homes, they need a commitment from the residents to undertake training in life skills as well as formal education to help them when thay move on to independent living.
We have been developing foyers for several years with our first opening in Stonehouse Plymouth in 2002. Since then we have five more in a variety of locations in Cornwall and Devon.
Our foyers are a mix of new build and refurbished properties. In Plymouth new homes were developed alongside a renovated warehouse. In Redruth we regenerated an area in the middle of the town and as well as a foyer, we provided a market and a library.
