Our supported housing services

Enabling people to live independently

The garden at our project for homeless families in KerrierWe provide support to enable people to live independently in the community in their own homes.

Those with support needs might be:

  • women and their children escaping domestic violence
  • people with mental health issues
  • people with a learning disability
  • people with a history of drug and/or alcohol abuse
  • young people at risk/leaving care
  • homeless families
  • single homeless people.

DCHA provides this support in three different ways:

  • accommodation-based provision owned by DCHA where support is provided by staff directly employed by DCHA;
  • accommodation-based provision owned by DCHA where support is provided by staff employed by other specialist agencies.
  • support workers, not attached to any specific accommodation but providing floating support, visiting people in their own homes. The client does not necessarily need to be living in a DCHA property to receive this service.
