If you have unwanted furniture that is too good to throw away and someone else on a low income would benefit from it, or you are looking for furniture and don’t have much money to spend; why not contact your local furniture recycling project?
These are really valuable community projects, saving unwanted but good quality furniture from going to landfill sites and offering people on a low income affordable (sometimes free) household goods. Some of the projects employ electricians and they repair and refurbish electrical white goods.
Many of the projects run work programmes for individuals who have special needs or have been long term unemployed and all of them rely on volunteer help.
See below for a list of projects covering different areas in Cornwall and Devon. They are all slightly different, some take furniture and electrical white goods (washing machines, cookers and fridges) some charge for collection and some don’t.
The best thing to do is to contact your local one and ask - click below for more information.
